It's a new week!

Last week, I found myself sick with virus. I hadn't been this sick in about 7 years. I was in the bed for 4 days without eating. Not only was I sick, but my wife was as well. It was so good to be back at church yesterday. What a service we had last night. The Holy Ghost moved with great fervancy last night. 2 were saved in the service, not to mention how many were refreshed by God's prescence. This was one of these old fashioned gully washers. Even this ole boy got in a couple of jumps and ran around the church. Our church's total of saved so far this year is 60. I thank God he brought this fellow and his family to Newport.

You know what bothers me....

Religious people bother me. What is my definition of religious people, those who come to church and are "wonderful" Christians in church, yet do not reflect a Christian testimony outside of church. I for one am not saying I'm perfect because I'm not. (The chariot of fire hasn't come for me yet.) However, I do with diligence try to live for the Lord.

Lately, I have seen some of these religious people judge others for not meeting the expectations of others. How sad that we as God's people "beat people up" with our words. No wonder, so many people leave our churches. I'm not talking about clothesline preaching, I'm talking about putting others down, beacause they may not be able to do what someone else wants or thinks they should do. I'm not talking about sin, I'm talking about being carbon copies of people.

I learned a long time ago, I can't do everything for everybody. I learned to say NO! Yet you tell people that, then they act like you not doing your responsibility. My first prority is to serve God. Second, to take care of my family, behind these everything else falls into place.

Some people want to be seen. They want there spirituality to be noticed. We as God's peole should learn to love and accept people. Living as Christ did. Telling the world, neither do I condemn you...go thy way and send no more.

Take the time to Read 1 Corinthians 13 and then if we all could practice it, what a a different church we could be.

It's been a long week

Paula had surgery last Monday, and a came through great. Her heart rate is down from 120's to 90's. The doctor told me it had nothing to do with the difibulator they put in. So I told them, if they didn't do it...God must have touched her. Paula's feeling better, just continue to prayer for her.

My Mom has not been feeling well, I ask your prayers for her. Her arthritis is really bothering her.

Just keep us all in your prayers.
